Me:  Where are you visiting today?

 

Prodigal:  I am visiting a college that teaches about God and the Bible.

 

Me:  Nice looking school.  I am reading about Billy Graham and wanted to share with you what he said about the Bible.

Billy has often repeated that “when I preach the Bible straight–no questions, no doubts, no hesitations–then God gives me a power that’s beyond me.  When I say, “The Bible says,”  God gives me this incredible power.  It’s something I don’t completely understand.”  He adds, “When I pick up the Bible, I feel as though I have a rapier in my hands.”

 

We can choose to try and use our power and our strength or we can turn to the power of the Lord.  It seems like Billy figured that out.

 

Psalm 121:1-2

I will lift up my eyes to the hills–From whence comes my help?  My help comes from the Lord.
