Me: Who is your friend, Prodigal?
Prodigal: Just a friend but she says that she does not believe in God.
Me: Well, I was just reading about conversations with Atheist and I would like to share.
Ravi Zacharias speaks on this in his book Beyond Opinion Living the Faith We Defend
Atheist: There is no God!
Christian: Are you sure about that? Can you prove that?
Atheist: I don’t need to! It’s obvious.
Christian: Well, humor me. Prove it!
Atheist: Well, I can’t prove it with total certainty. But it’s the best option.
Christian: I see. So what you are saying is that you can’t prove that there is no God–but that you believe the nonexistence of God is the most likely option.
Atheist: That’s right.
Christian: So atheism is a belief, then. Given that both atheism and Christianity are belief systems, which is better? And how might we go about judging this?
Makes you thing doesn’t it? Well I think that is the purpose! Now seek the answer for yourself.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
