What Can We Say

Me:  This was a nice time we had together.

Prodigal:  I know.  Let’s leave with wisdom.

Me:  I have just the right thing.

This is from the book This is My Story, This is Our Song by Norman F. Blosat with Elva W. Blosat

I remember feeling disheartened as we learned about the corruption and worldly powers of the church during the Middle Ages.  A story was told of two clergyman who were fingering and counting money as it went into the church coffers.  One said to the other, “No longer need we say, ‘Silver and gold have we none.’–to which the other more introspective clergyman replied, ‘But neither can we say, in the name of Jesus Christ, arise and walk!”

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people :  and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations.

Psalm 108:3
